From the reading: The Places That Made Us
Every traveller has a story that begins with a single decision — a last-minute ticket, a friend's invitation, or simply a map opened at random. Meera Pillai, a software engineer from Chennai, has been working remotely since 2021. In that time, she has visited fourteen countries, including Georgia, Colombia, and Senegal. What she remembers most is not the landmarks but the kitchens — the homes where strangers have cooked for her and asked nothing in return. "Those are the moments that have changed me most," she says.
