From the reading: The Cities That Never Stop Growing
In 1950, there were only two megacities on Earth — cities with more than ten million people. Today, there are 43. By 2050, demographers predict there will be over 60. The speed of this change is extraordinary. A century ago, most people lived in villages. Now, for the first time in history, more than half the world's population lives in urban areas, and the number keeps rising.
