From the reading: Why Your Weekend Is Never Long Enough
For most people in the world, the weekend means two days. In theory, that is forty-eight hours of freedom. In practice, it rarely feels that way. Researchers who study leisure — how people actually use their free time — have found something surprising: people who plan their weekends in detail tend to enjoy them less than people who stay flexible. When you schedule every hour, your day off starts to feel like work. The psychologist Cassie Mogilner Holmes at UCLA has studied this closely, and her conclusion is simple: unstructured time is essential for genuine rest.
