From the reading: Europcar: Fleet, Yield, and the Road Ahead

Walk into any car rental counter at Dublin Airport's Terminal 1 and the transaction looks simple: hand over a licence, tap a card, drive away. Behind that two-minute exchange, however, sits one of the most complex pricing machines in European travel. Europcar, founded in Paris in 1949 and now operating across more than 140 countries, runs a business where the difference between profit and loss can come down to a single idle day per vehicle. In Ireland, where tourism revenues topped €6.5 billion in 2023 and Dublin Airport handled over 32 million passengers, Europcar operates one of its busiest European hubs — and one of its most competitively priced.
