Tricolon

Three parallel elements building in force. The journey, the walk, the two hours of attention. Most powerful when the third element is the longest or most surprising.

Anaphora

Repeating the same word or phrase at the start of successive clauses. She listened. She reflected. She departed. Creates rhythm and insistence.

Antithesis

Two contrasting ideas placed in parallel. Not by budget, but by passion. Sharpens the argument by naming what something is not before naming what it is.

Periodic sentence

The main clause is withheld until the end. Natural in setting and ancient in tradition, the festival rewards every listener. Builds suspense and gives weight to the conclusion.
