Your Perfect Retreat

Zuckerberg bought a castle to escape — now design YOUR retreat experiment and test what actually restores you.

State your hypothesis

Complete this sentence in one line: 'If I spend ___ days in ___ doing ___, then I will feel ___.' Be specific — a real place, a real activity, a real expected result.

Isolate the variable

What is the ONE thing you are changing? Write it in the left zone. Write everything that stays the same (your phone, your routine, your company) in the right zone. Be honest about what the 'control' really is.

Measure and predict

How will you know if it worked? Name one concrete sign of success (e.g. 'I stop checking messages'). Then mark your predicted result on the spectrum below — and write one sentence explaining why you placed it there.

What specific result would mean your hypothesis was completely wrong? Write it clearly — not a vague answer. Then look back at Step 1: does your hypothesis still hold, or does it need adjusting?

Choose one word that names what you are actually afraid of — not that the experiment fails, but something deeper. Write it, then write one line explaining why that word, not another.
