From the reading: When Everything Changed Overnight
In August 2022, Valentina Guerrero landed at an airport in northern Europe for the first time. She had packed one suitcase, memorised three bus routes, and promised her mother in Bogotá she would call every Sunday. What she had not packed was a rain jacket. "I stood at the bus stop for twenty minutes," she recalls, "completely soaked. I had never seen rain like that in my life." It was, she says, the moment she understood that everything was going to be different.
