Use Can you repeat that, please? when you don't hear something. Always add please to be polite.

Ask for meaning

Use What does ___ mean? to ask about a new word. Example: What does 'batch' mean?

Speak slowly

Use Can you speak more slowly? when someone speaks too fast. This is always polite.

Check meaning

Use Do you mean ___? to check you understand. Example: Do you mean the morning report?
