Past simple — positive

Subject + verb (past form). Brazil won the World Cup in 2002. Use for finished past actions.

Past simple — negative

Subject + didn't + base verb. He didn't play in the final. Use didn't for all persons.

Going to — positive

Subject + am/is/are + going to + base verb. She is going to watch the game.

Going to — negative

Subject + am/is/are + not + going to + base verb. We aren't going to miss the final.
