Double comparative

Expresses proportional cause and effect. The higher the score, the greater the opportunity. Both clauses need the + comparative adjective.

Hedged comparative

Soften a strong comparison with arguably, somewhat, slightly, considerably. Korea is, arguably, the more intense of the two systems.

Amplified comparative

Strengthen with far, considerably, significantly, vastly. Students are far more exhausted than their peers in less pressured systems.

Common error

Finland is more better. ✗ → Finland is better. ✓ Never combine more with an already comparative form.
