Write the paragraph you would instinctively include — then mark an X through it and say why it slows the argument.

The Blind Spot

Name the one gap your audience is most likely to spot — the question that will catch you out.

Your Honest Answer

Write exactly what you would say if they asked that question in the room — Yegge-style: direct, brief, no defensive padding.

Draft the Core Argument

Write three sentences — your problem, your proposed answer, and the one risk you are not yet sure about. Look back at step 3: does your deleted paragraph sneak back in here?

The One Word

Choose a single word that describes what your audience will feel if the brief works — and write one line explaining why that word, not a safer one.
